Case Study: Neighborhood Action Program

With a collaboration between Police, Public Health, Economic Development, Code Enforcement, and Parks and Recreation, the City of Brooklyn Park created the Neighborhood Action Program (NAP). NAP’s goal is to reduce crime and improve the stability and livability in distressed single family neighborhoods. To achieve its goal, NAP created an action plan including collecting crime data, forming multi-department problem solving teams, identifying problem spots, addressing vacant and foreclosed properties, and promoting community pride.
